Course Description

Course Profile

This first-cycle programme enables students with little or no knowledge of the Polish language, foreigners and Poles living abroad, as well as persons interested in the Polish language and culture, who wish to broaden their linguistic and cultural knowledge of Poland, to learn Polish at least at B2 level and English at least at B2 level. This major allows students to obtain an extended and reliable knowledge of Polish language, literature and culture. Students can choose from two specialisations: teaching Polish as a foreign language and the Polish language in tourism and business, with a view to starting a professional career in various sectors of the labour market, e.g. language schools in Poland and schools abroad, cultural institutions, translation agencies, the media, publishing houses, travel agencies, diplomatic missions and all types of companies and enterprises, where Polish and English are used in communication on different levels (with other languages known to the graduates).

Education Requirements

The following documents are required (among others):

(1) a high school diploma,

(2) a high school transcript of records showing passed subjects and obtained grades,

(3) English as a grade in transcript of records (unless secondary education was taught in English).
