Webinar topic: Treatment in Ukraine: answers to the most frequently asked questions and an overview of all the nuances of medical tourism

Millions of patients travel to another country every year to receive medical services; in the United States alone, the number of citizens choosing to undergo medical treatment in another country exceeded the 650,000 mark in 2021. The greatest polarity of medical tourism is in the United States, Canada and Western European countries.

Such popularity of medical services abroad in these countries is largely due to the high cost of insurance and treatment itself. In search of an alternative, patients go to other countries, where the level of medicine meets world standards, and the prices are several times lower than in their country of residence.

Several factors contribute to the rapid growth of the medical tourism industry. These include, among others, rising health care costs in developed countries, technological and infrastructural advances in destination countries, and the growing number of international accreditation agencies.

The top three most popular types of medical tourism for several years are: plastic surgery, dentistry and cardiology.

The COVID-19 pandemic also led to a new medical tourism destination known as vaccine tourism. Had the greatest demand among Canadian medical tourists in late 2020 and early 2021, when many chose to travel to the southern United States because COVID -19 vaccines were significantly more available in the United States than in Canada.

For more than five years UAmedTOURS has been providing medical tourism services for foreign patients. And the need for such an introductory webinar arose a long time ago and is due to several reasons:
