Master in International Relations

The Master in International Relations is an interdisciplinary programme that includes subjects from the area of social sciences, as well as scientific disciplines, such as political sciences and law. The basic subjects taught during the course cover the issues connected with: International Law, Theory of International Relations, International Economic Law, International terrorism, Globalization in the contemporary world, Regional Integration Organisations and Human Rights Protection.
After the course, the graduate has interdisciplinary knowledge about the complex phenomenon of International Relations. During the 4-semester Master studies our students will be taught from two complementary perspectives, i.e. social sciences and International Law. The former will help them to understand processes taking place in the area of international relations, while the latter will provide the tools necessary for a practical attitude towards possible legal solutions and consequences of events taking place in the sphere of international relations. Such wide and interdisciplinary learning provides students with possibility to develop their flexible skills as well as the ability to think from a broader perspective - the two factors which are most important when considering the issues of contemporary international relations.
After completing the program the graduates have all necessary skills to analyze political and legal processes and phenomena in the field of international relations. They will also be able to use normative systems and selected standards and rules in the field of international law, transnational corporations and EU law to solve specific problems. The graduates are highly skilled for taking up employment within the public and private sector, i.e. in both governmental and local government bodies as well as in governmental and non-governmental organizations. The studies also prepare the graduate to take up employment in the economic sector in the aspect of international relations. The studies complement the education preparing for work in transnational corporations with knowledge of economic markets, International trade and international economic law, in the global dimension. He graduates also have a very high expertise in communicating in English.
Social competences
After completing the program the graduates are prepared to be employed in the field of international relations in Poland and abroad. Their skills involve strategic, innovative and creative thinking, taking analytical and critical approach to problem solving as well as having the suffient knowledge of international relations and their implications in the sphere of international law.
The graduates are highly qualified experts in the area of international relations. They are well prepared to work as staff of:
- governmental and local government bodies;
- governmental and non-governmental organizations;
- transnational corporations;
