Course Description

Course Profile

A graduate of the “Circular Economy and Water Resources Management” programme possesses advanced knowledge and skills corresponding to two equally important fields of study: circular economy and water resources management. They understand the principles of sustainable development, efficient resource use and recovery, and the functioning of environmental systems, including the  water and materials cycles in both natural and anthropogenic environments.

The graduate has advanced competencies in implementing solutions consistent with the concept of a circular economy, including reducing resource consumption, recovering and reusing water and raw materials, as well as planning, designing, and operating of technological operations and processes and water management systems. They are able to analyse and model hydrological, hydraulic, and environmental processes, assess water quality, and identify and solve problems related to water scarcity and excess, as well as pressure on environmental resources.

They are prepared to integrate technical, environmental, and economic knowledge in order to implement solutions supporting the transition towards a circular economy and sustainable water resources management. They are able to use modern analytical and IT tools, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and numerical models, in decision-making and design processes.
