Course Description
Course Profile
Teaching standards according to the Order of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of July 12th, 2007 (Dz. U. of September 13, 2007, No 164, item 1166) and the proprietary programme accepted by the Faculty Board. The standards define the general requirements, including the number of teaching hours, the graduate profile, the teaching scope of particular courses broken into fundamental, principal, specialization and selectable courses.
After completing studies, graduates have:
a) the knowledge of the most important groups of drugs and their pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics,
b) the skills to conduct synthesis of particular classes of organic compounds used in drug synthesis,
c) ability to determine the mutual relationship between the structure and the bioactivity of chemicals, especially pharmaceutically active ingredients. In addition, graduates are knowledgeable in state-of-the-art research methods used in drug analysis, and in legal protection of biomedical inventions. This gives graduates the opportunity to work directly at industrial production lines as well as in control and research laboratories and state and local regulatory offices.
