Course Description

Course Profile

International Relations and Area Studies (IRAS) is an undergraduate interdisciplinary programme that offers a rigorous international and comparative perspective on the contemporary global system and different regions of the world. Its mission is to foster creative thinking about complex global problems and to equip students with the analytical tools, language expertise, and cross-cultural understanding to guide them in that process. This degree provides a solid grounding in international issues together with an opportunity to specialise in a particular region or specific subject. You will learn how the international system has evolved, and engage with scholars in debates about dilemmas dominating contemporary international politics. Graduate's profile This degree programme combines intellectual rigour with a practical focus that allows its graduates to acquire significant intellectual and practical skills which will be valuable for their future careers, whether it is in government, non-governmental organizations, aid and development agencies, business, cultural and regional institutions or diplomacy. Graduates will be also able to apply for MA programmes in various social science disciplines.

Education Requirements

Persons eligible to apply for the programme are the holders of a maturity certificate or another document equivalent to Polish maturity certificate. Candidates whose first language is not English are required to prove their English language proficiency at the level specified by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education with a recognised certificate, or by obtaining confirmation from the university unit responsible for this programme stating that candidate's language command is sufficient for undertaking studies. This requirement does not apply to graduates of secondary schools where the language of instruction is English. Qualification result Candidates will be placed on the ranking list according to their registration date and time determined by clicking on the „Register now” button within the scheduled registration period.
