Course Description

Course Profile

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in European Environmental Economics and Policy (M3EP) is a two-year, second-cycle (Master’s) joint degree programme delivered by five 4EU+ Alliance universities: University of Copenhagen, Heidelberg University, University of Milan, Charles University in Prague, and University of Warsaw.

M3EP equips students with a strong foundation in both environmental economics and environmental policy and politics, preparing them to engage with complex sustainability challenges, particularly those related to the green transition at the European and global levels. The curriculum blends economic analysis with political frameworks and practical policy skills.

Structure of the programme:

Year 1: Conducted at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on core concepts in environmental economics and policy.

Year 2: Students choose a specialisation at one of the partner universities, such as Economics of Green and Just Transition in Warsaw or other tracks in Heidelberg, Milan, or Prague.

The programme aims to develop professionals capable of designing, evaluating and implementing effective environmental policy solutions, and prepares students for diverse career paths in public institutions, private organisations, research, or further academic study.
