Pomeranian University in Słupsk is a modern state institution of higher education with more than 57 years of academic tradition. It was founded in 1969 as the Teacher’s College, later transformed into a Higher Pedagogical School, and has since developed into today’s dynamic Pomeranian University, offering Bachelor’s, Engineer’s, Master’s and Doctoral degree programmes in a wide range of fields.

The University boasts a team of highly qualified academic staff, modern specialist and computer laboratories, as well as well-equipped lecture halls and teaching facilities. Our researchers carry out studies in 29 academic disciplines, encompassing such areas as the humanities, social sciences, engineering, technical sciences, exact and natural sciences, medical and health sciences, and the arts. Our research teams take part in numerous national and international projects, both as ambitious leaders and trusted partners.

The University offers Bachelor’s, Engineer’s, and Master’s degree courses in more than 100 specialisations, covering 24 fields of study at the Bachelor’s level, 3 fields at the Engineer’s level, and 20 fields at the Master’s level. The Doctoral College offers programmes in 7 disciplines, namely history, literature, linguistics, biological sciences, health sciences, legal sciences, and security sciences.

The University is highly active internationally, implementing student and staff mobility programmes within Erasmus+, Norway/EEA Grants, and student exchange schemes under numerous bilateral agreements. We also offer double degree programmes in cooperation with international partner institutions. The University participates in prestigious international projects, including Erasmus+ funded CoVE — Centres of Vocational Excellence — and cooperation partnership projects.

The University plays a vital role in the region, acting as a catalyst for innovation, education, culture and social engagement. It cooperates with business, supports local development, and carries out numerous initiatives addressed to the local community. One of the major undertakings reflecting the University’s public outreach mission is the “Active University” Project (Polish: “Aktywny Uniwersytet”), which includes activities aimed at disseminating knowledge, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, and popularising the Polish language and culture.
