Course Description

Course Profile

Smart Manufacturing and Management is focused on developing managerial and engineering competencies of the 21st century, which will allow to meet the requirements of a rapidly changing technological environment. Students become proficient in the use of technology and its latest developments. Graduates are able to work with other professionals, including designers, architects and project managers, and effectively lead and manage projects, teams and resources, taking into account new technologies and changing environments.

The course is also part of the educational strategy promoted by the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU), of which the Lodz University of Technology is a member. The main pillar of this strategy is the implementation of flexible learning paths aimed at acquiring a variety of competences. You will be able to take advantage of other forms of training offered not only at Lodz University of Technology, but also within ECIU. These include online micro-modules, micro-credentials and digital badges, workplace learning and competency-based education. Smart Manufacturing field of study has been designed in an innovative way, providing for only three competency modules each semester, focusing your attention on your chosen skill sets.

The field of study will largely be conducted with business partners so that you can benefit from on-the-job learning opportunities - in the form of internships, co-op programs or customized training. Education is competency-based, making it focus on learning outcomes rather than hours of instruction, allowing you to demonstrate your skills in a more practical way. This approach allows for greater flexibility in the learning process. As a graduate, you will be able to start working at home and abroad, using the competences acquired during your studies related to organizing and directing the work of a team, as well as the ability to convince, negotiate, communicate and present in a foreign language, using modern audiovisual means.
