Over a full-time five years of study students obtain a DDM (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree whose program of study conforms to the European Union standards of dental education.
The first years generally give a solid grounding in basic sciences for future field of practice. From the third year student begins practical experience and have the opportunity to treat own patients under supervision.
Medical University of Warsaw understands how valuable hands-on education is, which is why the Dentistry program is designed with a heavy focus on clinical training. Students are taught and trained with the latest techniques and equipment at the University Dental Center located on the Medical University of Warsaw's Banacha Campus.
The rapid development of scientific technology makes dentistry a fast-paced and exciting industry to work in. Emerging technologies introduce new specialties to the field in addition to the many sub-sets you can already choose from such as: pediatric and conservative dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, as well as oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Over the course of your degree, you will master high degree of practical expertise, communication skills and the resilience and stamina to become a successful dentist. Studying dentistry at MUW grants unique opportunities to excel in different areas of dental medicine while meeting new colleagues and to develop your network. Being a service-oriented profession, it offers a chance to help people by improving their oral and general health, self-confidence and self-image.
Upon completion of each year of studies, students are required to take a 4-week summer practical training which is mandatory and included in the curriculum.
Practical trainings can be completed in recognized institutions in native countries of the students.
