Course Description
Course Profile
The ASC Master’s course aims at preparing students to become experts and develop international skills towards doctoral studies, and/or professional industrial careers in chemical analysis and characterisation of the structure of molecules and materials. A mobility scheme ensures that, in addition to high specialisation and access to state-of-the-art spectroscopic technologies, students will do a common core curriculum of studies in at least 2 higher education institutions throughout Europe. The first semester is dedicated to providing all candidates with a common platform in advanced spectroscopic methods. In the second and third semesters, more specialised instruction is provided with applications in molecular synthesis, biology, nanotechnology, modelling, “green chemistry”, medicine, and new energy sources. The Master’s thesis should preferably be based on a collaborative project during the last semester between two of the partner institutions, thus adding an even more challenging European dimension to the programme.
