Course Description

Course Profile

The Master’s degree program in International Business (IB) offers students a broad range of topics, necessary for a successful operation of businesses in modern global reality. Besides its focus on economic theory, the program provides a deep, analytical, and strategic understanding of regional, international, and global business operations within the complex and interconnected world economy. The curriculum is developed and enhanced by internal and external stakeholders and includes a broad mix of courses that tackle different aspects of international economics and global business providing the students with a unique multidisciplinary perspective as business professionals. A core component of master’s level education is enhancement of the strategic international business perspective, focussing on international operations in an evolving geopolitical, economic, technological and socio-cultural environment. The objective of the study program is also recognition and addressing issues of corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and fair trade in a global context. In addition, the in-depth international economics and finance issues are developed in the program. Upon successful completion of this program, the graduates will gain the knowledge necessary to evaluate international business performance using quantitative, qualitative, and data analytic tools, methods, and techniques, and other advanced analytical skills that are essential for research-orientated mindset. Additionally, the strong emphasis is placed on developing intercultural communication, and interactive methods of learning (e.g., flipped classroom, critical analysis, problem-solving method, case studies analysis, academic debates, etc.).

Ultimately, the study program responds to the needs of labor market. It emphasizes in-depth theoretical frameworks and practical competencies necessary for leaders and mangers in multinational organizations, international institutions, and global entrepreneurial ventures. It also aims to produce highly competent and internationally-orientated professionals and scholars who are capable of contributing to and shaping directions in international business.
