Course Description
Course Profile
During your studies in Applied Bioeconomy, you will gain interdisciplinary knowledge in sustainable development, biotechnology, environmental management and circular economy, necessary to develop sustainable solutions for global changes.
What will you learn?
Throughout your studies, you will explore:
• Fundamentals of Science and Engineering - mathematics, chemistry, microbiology, programming,
• Bioresources and Sustainable Technologies - biorenewable resources, sewage technology, water cycle, its pollution, monitoring, protection and use in the economy,
• Circular Economy and Bioeconomy Applications - circular supply chains, sustainable packaging, recycling technologies,
• Environmental Protection and Management - soil contamination, groundwater remediation, environmental risk assessment,
• Innovative Technologies and Business Skills - artificial intelligence, design thinking, investment project management.
What next?
As a graduate of Applied Bioeconomy, you will be prepared for dynamic careers in various sectors, such as:
• Work in sustainable resource management, environmental law, policy consulting,
• Developing bio-based solutions in biorefineries, green chemistry, and waste management,
• Engaging in bioprocess engineering, bioreactor design, and sustainable food production,
• Managing urban mining, lithium-ion battery recycling, and reverse logistics,
• Supporting companies in environmental risk assessment, LCA analysis, and sustainable business strategies,

Education Requirements
A final secondary school diploma that gives the applicant the right to apply to higher education in its country of issue (e.g. A-levels, Leaving Certificate, Abitur, High School Diploma or equivalents). Applicants will be assessed based on their grades in their native language, one foreign language, and one of the following subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, geography, computer science.
English language – at least level B2, a language certificate or another appropriate document is required.
