Course Profile

Do you dream of a well-paid job in the IT industry? Your first word wasn't ‘mommy’ but ‘C++’ or ‘Python’? Or maybe you are just wondering if programming is as hard as it sounds? Don't hesitate, study computer science! Throughout your studies, you will have many opportunities to participate in numerous workshops, training and dedicated specialist classes at the Oracle Academy, Microsoft and Cisco.

The Faculty enhances relations between education, research and economy within the frame of knowledge triangle. Wide range of subjects to choose gives students possibilities of creating such an educational path, which corresponds to the students’ scientific interests and professional plans. It fulfils the strategy assumptions, which puts special emphasis on improving the programme's flexibility. Special attention should be paid to employer’s co-operation in creating educational programmes for IT faculty, contributing to building a system of innovative education. The Faculty also refers to the university mission, especially to basic tasks of university, which are shaping moral attitudes in society both on scientific and everyday life foundations.

The graduate, exhibiting special proficiency in IT knowledge use both in theoretical and practical aspects, is prepared to undertake a profession in the field of IT in various industries, as well as:

• Possesses grounded knowledge and skills in advanced IT fields;

• Possesses skills of analytic and synthetic thinking that allows to non-standard approaches to various practical problems solving requiring analysis, developing or adapting advanced IT technologies;

• Possesses the skill of developing IT solutions on the basis of mathematical models and is able to evaluate these solutions, test them and ensure their security;

• Is aware of importance and results of IT engineer professional activities and understands the meaning of intellectual honesty;

• Can present advanced IT content in verbal and written forms and rationally discuss them;

• Possesses the skill of individual knowledge widening and deepening within the frames of current IT trends.

• Possesses high qualifications and skills in the field of IT that makes them competitive on the labour market.

Education Requirements

Essential documents required from candidates for studies:

1. An Engineer’s or Master’s degree diploma, including the supplement with grades (document that entitles candidate to start studying at graduate level in the country where the document was issued). Document issued abroad must be legalized or possess an apostille stamp.

2. In case of documents issued in languages other than Polish and English – certified translation into Polish made by a court translator from the official list of the Polish Ministry of Justice.

3. Individual information provided by NAWA that the document issued abroad entitles the candidate to apply for graduate programmes in Poland – if it was issued by a country that is not a member of the EU, EFTA or OECD and with which Poland does not have relevant agreements on the equivalence of education certificates. 

4. Document confirming proficiency in English. 

Other Requirements

Students who have received an Engineer’s, Master's or equivalent degree in a study programme entitling them to study in the country of issue are eligible apply for admission. The qualification criterion shall be a competition of final grades on the graduation diplomas.

Method of calculating points (candidate score):

CS = 3 * D + O

where:

CS – candidate score,

D – a grade on the diploma of completion of a study programme assigned to assigned to the leading discipline of technical informatics and telecommunications or to the leading discipline of informatics (D = 0 if the candidate did not graduate from a field of study assigned to the aforementioned leading disciplines),

O – a grade on the diploma of completion of a study programme other than the leading disciplines of technical informatics and telecommunications and informatics.

A language knowledge of at least B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required.
