Course Description

Course Profile

The Modern Business Management (MBM) program has been designed in response to the evolving challenges of the global economy, where flexibility and practical skills in diagnosing issues and creatively addressing them are paramount. During their bachelor’s studies, students acquire knowledge enabling effective management of financial and non-financial resources and the application of advanced quantitative methods in decision-making processes, supported by active teaching methods such as case studies and business simulations. A key component of the program is work on real business projects, often conducted in international teams, which develops intercultural competencies and the ability to operate in a multilingual environment. All courses are delivered entirely in English, which not only strengthens language proficiency but also prepares students for careers in global organizations, while the use of modern technologies and IT tools allows for the continuous enhancement of digital managerial competencies. The mission of the Krakow University of Economics – “To understand the causes and values of things, to provide a universal education that combines professional knowledge with general methodological and theoretical understanding” – forms the foundation of the MBM educational concept, merging solid theory with practical preparation for action in a changing business environment. The university’s development strategy envisions building synergies between high-quality scientific research and innovative teaching methods, expanding research infrastructure, and increasing scholarly and academic staff activity so that KUE can establish itself as a leading European center. The MBM program aligns with these objectives through its interdisciplinary approach, the internationalization of faculty and students, and the use of digital technologies in teaching. The increase in foreign investment in the Krakow region and the internationalization of Polish enterprises are driving a growing demand for specialists capable of making decisions in a context of global competition. In response, the MBM program incorporates advanced courses in statistics, econometrics, and data analysis, as well as modules dedicated to intellectual property protection, business ethics, and sustainable development. Students learn to organize their own and team work flexibly, and projects conducted with foreign partners during their studies enhance their communication skills and ability to manage virtual teams. A first-cycle MBM graduate possesses comprehensive knowledge in management, finance, marketing, and information technology, enabling effective diagnosis and resolution of organizational problems. They have advanced analytical and forecasting skills based on modern quantitative methods, and fluency in English and a second foreign language at a B2 level allows them to operate in an international business environment.

The graduate is prepared to work in multicultural teams, can formulate and present conclusions, negotiate effectively, and demonstrates creativity and flexibility in decision-making. Upon completing their bachelor’s degree, they may take on junior or middle management positions, successfully run their own business, or continue their education at the master’s level.
