Course Description

Course Profile

During the first semester of their studies, students learn theoretical knowledge of energy systems in cities and buildings, as well as computer analysis and design methods. Classes are conducted in the form of lectures, practical exercises, and laboratories. Upon a successful completion of this stage of the program, they receive a certificate confirming the acquired knowledge. In the second semester, they apply this knowledge to solve engineering problems with modern tools and methods. Students work in interdisciplinary teams to solve problems, and their ideas are verified by industry experts. They acquire skills by finding solutions to real project tasks. Successful completion of this stage ends with a diploma certifying the acquired skills. The last semester is focused on individual work on a diploma project on a selected topic. Completion and defense of the thesis allows the student to earn a magister inżynier degree.

  • consulting companies from the broadly understood building and systems design and energy consulting;
  • companies from the sector of modern construction, installations, renewable energy sources, companies dealing with energy audits, energy certification and energy conservation;
  • developers, tenants and managers of buildings;
  • industry R&D centers; independent expert centers and NGOs drawing up environmental impact assessment reports, certifying, standardization and regulatory bodies;
  • utility and infrastructure companies;

Graduates are also prepared to embark on a successful research career by pursuing doctoral degrees in nearly any discipline.

Education Requirements

Candidates have to hold a legalized diploma of first degree studies or another foreign document that entitles them to continue education at the second degree studies level.

A candidate must have very good knowledge of English proven by an international language certificate or an official document issued by candidate’s university stating that English was medium of instruction on the first degree study programme they have completed.
