Course Description
Course Profile
Understanding the complexities of Europe is key to navigating its political, economic, and cultural landscape. The MA in European Studies provides a comprehensive exploration of European governance, law, economics, and policies, equipping students with the expertise needed to engage with the European Union and broader geopolitical dynamics. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the programme blends theoretical insights with practical applications, preparing graduates for diverse careers in diplomacy, international organisations, public administration, and the private sector.
The curriculum covers essential aspects of EU institutions, law, economics, and policymaking, while also examining broader European affairs, including security, external relations, and cultural dynamics. Students engage in policy simulations, workshops, and real-world case studies, gaining hands-on experience in diplomatic communication, policy analysis, and project management. With a choice of specialised electives, students can tailor their studies to focus on law, international relations, business, or economics, developing skills highly valued by employers. The programme fosters cross-cultural competence and negotiation abilities, essential for working in international institutions, government agencies, consultancy, and corporate relations. Graduates are well-prepared for roles in EU institutions, UN agencies, NGOs, think tanks, diplomatic services, and international business, where expertise in European affairs is in high demand.
