Course Profile
Medical Biotechnology is a rapidly advancing field that merges biology, chemistry, and cutting-edge technology to revolutionise healthcare and medical research. The Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology programme provides students with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in molecular biology, genetic engineering, bioinformatics, and therapeutic innovations, preparing them for careers in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, research institutions, and emerging biotechnological enterprises.
Students will develop essential skills in experimental research, laboratory techniques, and project management. The curriculum includes specialised programmes such as Molecular Biology Techniques, Protein Biotechnology, Drug Carriers, and Genetic Manipulation. Through individual research projects under expert guidance, students will refine their ability to design and conduct experiments, analyse complex scientific data, and apply bioinformatics tools effectively.
The programme emphasises hands-on training, small class sizes, and close collaboration with experienced faculty. Students will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with advanced instruments, including high-resolution microscopes, flow cytometers, and real-time PCR thermocyclers.
Graduates will be well-prepared for careers in research and development, clinical trials, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and biotechnology startups. Potential roles include research scientist, biotechnologist, clinical research associate, and medical lab technician.
